Fast bowler Gus Atkinson Adds to the English team's Injury Worries.
'Major setback' for the touring side as Atkinson goes off due to a hamstring issue.
Gus Atkinson further complicated England's injury problems after leaving the ground on the second morning of the fourth Ashes Test in the Ashes series.
Atkinson experienced discomfort in his hamstring post-delivery of the fourth over on Saturday.
The England team indicated Atkinson reported "discomfort" and required time away from the action for further assessment "in the coming hours".
The final Test in this Ashes battle beginning on 4 January starts at the end of the week.
The visitors have already lost fast bowlers one seamer due to knee trouble and Jofra Archer because of a side injury on the current trip.
Matthew Fisher was called up as injury reinforcement.
Atkinson struggled early in the series, managing only three wickets.
He was left out from the previous Test, only to be brought back for the fourth Test as Archer's replacement.
Surrey's Atkinson performed better in the fourth Test, bagging two scalps in Australia's first innings, and scoring 28 runs as a batsman as one of just three English batsmen to reach double figures.
After bowling one over at the end of day one, he resumed the next day and dismissed the nightwatchman edging to the keeper.
Yet, at the end of that over, he delivered a variation to the batsman and immediately felt for his hamstring.
Atkinson returned to the side for the Melbourne match after being left out of the third.
