Former Doctor Faces Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have stated that a ex- physician stands accused of committing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the 45 charges include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
