Los Angeles experienced citywide celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-game World Series championship. Supporters across the globe joined Angelenos in jubilation, marking the first time in 25 years that a team has secured consecutive championships.

Celebration Parade Draws Enormous Crowds

Los Angeles area events featured a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at Dodger Stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.

Online footage show countless of Angelenos packing city center avenues, many displaying handmade banners and team flags. The squad was seen riding high on a double-decker bus through the masses, raising the Commissioner’s trophy high.

“I’m already thinking about the third time we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an interpreter.

The parade route concluded at Dodger Stadium, where the players walked out to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and the artist driving a Pacific blue vintage Cadillac around the field.

Early Celebrations and Player Reactions

Festivities started well before the procession, with Dodgers fans lighting fireworks in the roads of Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, awarded the MVP of the championship, commented directly about the victory.

“Losing is not an option,” he stated. “I adore this team. This city means everything to me.”

Mixed Reactions and City Unity

In contrast, the team owner was met with a less warm reception at the celebration. Video footage from the event seem to depict him walking onstage to a mix of applause and boos, with jeers interrupting his speech.

The World Series served as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for the city. An estimated 225,000 people showed up to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, fans this year demonstrated equal or greater support.

“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” he said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
