At the same time, nearly one thousand energy customers in Victoria also faced power outages after Melbourne saw its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations received 598 requests for assistance across the area, mainly for property damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along large portions of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coast.
The following day was forecast to be the wettest day, with continued thunderstorm potential predicted across multiple regions of both states.

Public health experts cautioned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
