Netflix Casts Ideal Performer for Mr. 2 in One Piece Third Season
Baroque Works is poised to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the real showdown isn’t set to occur until season 3, and a beloved, popular member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Bon Clay. Bon Clay has the ability to change into an exact copy of anyone they’ve made contact with with their dominant hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a interpretation of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action show, as in the original manga and animated series.
This performer will work alongside multiple new cast members tasked with bringing the organization to reality, including leader the main antagonist, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the ensemble as the monarch of the desert kingdom.
Even though the role is a key figure of the group, the persona will be introduced in One Piece season 3. Considering the next season set to cover the Little Garden segment, this marks a major departure in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest further changes to the story’s structure.
Their mix of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the part. In addition to their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and multiple awards for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, emphasizing the range they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.
Netflix's live-action One Piece show is due to premiere for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
