A First Glimpse at the Legendary Cast
This first look reveals Matt Damon in the role of Odysseus. Audiences are introduced to Tom Holland playing the son and Anne Hathaway as Penelope. In a poignant moment, Penelope asks her husband to vow his safe homecoming, only for him to look up and question what occurs should he fail. Furthermore, the preview provides a brief, shadowy glimpse of the mythical one-eyed giant, from whom sheep are Odysseus and his crew steal on their treacherous voyage.
Based upon a foundational pillar in classic storytelling, The Odyssey chronicles the lengthy quest undertaken by the famed ruler. After his triumph at Troy, as told in Homer's Iliad, the king faces a long and perilous return to his homeland.
Legendary Obstacles and a Star-Studded Lineup
On his travels, the hero encounters numerous obstacles and legendary creatures. These include the enchantress Circe, who transforms men into swine, and the deceptive Sirens. Despite these trials, his sworn oath is to do whatever it takes to get back to Penelope and Telemachus in Ithaca.
The adaptation's cast boasts an impressive lineup. Alongside the leading trio are Charlize Theron as the cunning Circe, together with Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, Elliot Page, and Jon Bernthal.

The classic poem has seen numerous adaptations over the years. These range from contemporary versions to a 1999 ballet. It has even been adapted into a musical titled Epic: The Musical, released in the form of a nine-album collection.
