It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a squad that has won it all.

It needed up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batsmen to hold a record if never given the chance.

In the end, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a chance to produce her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win happened three months after her bow and seven global championships have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort is debatable.

Certain people claim the case for the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was far harder to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it's been a challenging time because I feel like I've had no rhythm completely," said Healy.

"But once you take the field, your fighting spirit kick in and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

By the time she was dismissed the team required another 66 at one run per ball - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the assurance to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if necessary, we are confident we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this championship should hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this triumph coming after victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.
